LINEUP
Centralized Charge Code Mapping, Simplified
OVERVIEW
LINEUP is:
- the first truly centralized charge code mapping service
- cloud-based to support easy dissemination and rapid updates
- a fully secured, real-time web service that queries charge codes active at the time of the incident for contextual accuracy
LINEUP can:
- be integrated in any RMS to ensure correct mappings are used in every jurisdiction
- help delegate authority to the experienced team members
- audit and run reports on past activity
LINEUP simplifies:
- entering crime code data
- importing or exporting translation tables
- adding and managing users with different privileges
Integration Features
Beyond 20/20 is already a leader in state-focused solutions for managing NIBRS data efficiently.
But we know that across jurisdictions, translating city ordinances and state statutes into NIBRS offense codes remains a huge challenge. Municipal, state, and federal codes are continually evolving, and a variety of systems for managing that data are in use across each state.
That’s why we developed LINEUP, the first truly centralized charge code mapping service. LINEUP can be integrated into any RMS and is cloud-based to support easy dissemination and rapid updates.
LINEUP simplifies the process of mapping state-level statutes and local ordinances to NIBRS codes – and makes it easy to disseminate those translations across agencies, state-wide and in real time.
Adopting LINEUP means all departments and police agencies obtain their charge code translations from a single source, in a unified format, making it faster and easier for everyone to maintain and update their systems.
How does LINEUP work?
- One-to-one translation of the city ordinance or state statute (charge code) to a NIBRS offense code
OR
- List of most relevant NIBRS offense codes and definitions so your Program Managers can make an informed decision about how to map the codes
OR
- Confirmation of inapplicability that the charge code is NOT a NIBRS reportable offense
LINEUP results always reflect charge codes active at the time of the incident for contextual accuracy.
Collaboration Features
Simplify the process of mapping state-level statutes and local ordinances to NIBRS codes
In addition to offense code queries, the LINEUP user interface also makes it easy to:
- Enter crime code data
- Import or export translation tables in bulk – in common formats
- Add and manage users with different privileges
- Delegate authority – for example, a Program Manager at the state level might manage mapping of state statutes, but assign management of city ordinances to experienced data management officers in each municipal jurisdiction
- Track changes over time – so you can see how charge codes and translations have evolved over time
- Audit past activity – run reports to see what changes were made, when, and by whom
Access to LINEUP can be integrated in any RMS to ensure correct mappings are used in every jurisdiction – eliminating the need for locally managed lookup tables and manual steps.
However, LINEUP does not have to be integrated with your RMS to be a single source of truth for charge code information. LINEUP promotes collaboration between delegated authorities at all levels through comprehensive user management features, so stakeholders can contribute according to their expertise.
LINEUP Benefits
- Significant error reduction – reduced data manipulation; translations can be exclusively and consistently maintained by those with the most expertise
- State-wide data integrity – single source for charge code translations
- Greater relevance and increased accuracy – new charge codes at any level (municipal, state, or federal/NIBRS), can be mapped quickly and disseminated instantly, instead of monthly, quarterly, or annually
- Always available – to support all jurisdictions, time zones, and schedules
